I was just checking the status of my application online in the CIC account and saw medicals passed.

I did get an email about an update in the application; but that was 5 hours after I had already checked my account.
Another thing to consider guys is that you did your medicals in mid November. That might be a factor on why you got yours relatively fast!

Yes quite possible that since I did my medicals early and my application got stuck for the want of PCC, they might have my medicals data ready!

Also, there is no other change in the status and its not required at this time in all the fields.

Guys,

With regards to MEDS PASSED... What I've found out is that it there absolutely no pattern, going back to OCT AOR I've seen people who has taken a week to people who have taken 51 days!

Although I now know that the RFPR fee is only asked for after the initial checking is done so I should have decided to pay later.. That way I would have definitely known if I as through the initial tests.

Dam it lack of research...

Yea that's why I didn't pay it with the application fee, but apparently this might cost me a couple of weeks to 1 month delay in processing time, since ones who do get processed faster

There are varied thoughts on the fees aspect.

Many applicants have received their PPR within a month or two off late and all of them had paid the fees upfront.

So as such I dont see any fixed pattern to the methods. I personally feel its just up to the visa officers who handle your case and how fast he appraises your case.

Its kind of similar to the work all of us do in office. We would rather complete the easy files quickly so that you can report few files as closed!!

I don't know... Honestly, how long does it take to analyse two blood tests (that should show negative) and a chest xray that should show lack of TB? I think as soon as you doctor submits the results someone else at CIC just takes 5 minutes to verify it's all good and gives the all clear!

I really do think what takes the longest is waiting for a analyst to take a look at your file, do the R10/A11.2 checks and finally link your profile with the actual medical data on the system.

Remember our IME numbers get uploaded, so someone needs to look and physically input this into our profile at some stage, that's when MEDS status change I think.

Like you said earlier, before Med Passed they also verify the completeness of the application.
So everyone's got a different situation and some simple straightforward, some requires lots of supporting document.
It also depends on the person who does the initial completeness check. These are usually the lowest-paid officers, maybe they hire interns to do this. So if your happen to be assigned to an inexperienced officer, it will definitely takes longer.
So yeah, this Med Passed thing has no pattern, it's completely random.

Well my doctor said that the blood test he will get within a week, but he also said that the chest X-ray takes time. He told me, if you don't hear anything back about your blood in a week then you can rest assured that it was fine. For the chest X-ray if you don't hear anything within 3 months then it's okay. I remember asking: 3 MONTHS!! and he said yeah, depending on the case, 3 months is about average.

I didn't ask anymore questions because I didn't think I would be in this situation ???

I think your doctor is just playing with your nerves.. Xrays take 5 minutes to be verified! More than one person I know knew the results of their xrays in less than a day.

Blood tests don't take time either, maybe it depends on how busy the lab is (where you did the medical)
In my case, the doctor told me if I don't hear from her the next day then everything is incheck
I called the next day anyway to ask about whether I needed a Creatinine test, she told me that the meds are done, passed and uploaded to the system

Really doubt it. Have a friend who is a radiologist.
Chest X-ray usually can be done within a day or two. But for urgent surgeries, it can be done in minutes.
I think your doctor just told you this so you wouldn't go back to bug him.

I think what your doctor meant to say is that if there is something odd or suspicious with your XRAY then CIC would get back within a maximum of 3 months with additional tests.

You can see quite a few cases in the forum of people diagnosed with TB that have had to do several follow up tests... That may have been it!

Keep in mind that I did this in Canada. In Canada everything medical is much slower since it's not privately owned and the government runs it all.

Ouch --- http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/express-entry-eapr-submitted-in-november-2016-t459415.0.html;msg5703931#msg5703931

Someone from the Nov thread has just said she was eagerly awaiting an update and when she got one yesterday (probably the first one) it was application cancelled.. :(

She didn't even see Meds Passed!!!

I've just realized how important it its to see meds passed guys!!! Hoping and praying everyday now to see MEDS PASSED!!!!

I think this means they do the R10 before anything else... Meds passed means R10 has been done and you passed!!!!

Please please please MEDS PASSED!!!!
I don't think it will be cancelled as long as you have covered Passport, Education and Police Report according to their requirement.
Anything else, they will ask you to submit additional doc.
