AOR 1 versus AOR2?

What's the difference between AoR1 and AOR 2? This is what I received today, which one is it?:

There is only one AOR (Acknowledgement of Receipt). This simply means that your entire application package has been received by CIC.

There are three approval stages:

1. Approval of sponsor (SA).

2. Approval in Principle (AIP) for the applicant.

3. Decision Made (DM) which is either a positive or negative decision.


Generally, the AOR confirmation means that your package was opened up and all required forms have been included, all required signatures are in place and the latest/current version of all forms were submitted. This usually means that the application will not be returned as incomplete...but now always.
