Anyone else applying for US green card? Any potential complications?

I have a pending green card application (self-petition based on skills/employment) in the US, and it just occurred to me there might be potential conflicts if I am lucky enough to get my canada PR application to an advanced stage. Just wanted to check if anyone in the forum is or was in a similar situation.

no implications (my understanding not legal advice), my GC has already been applied for and I am in GC queue, but have no intention to wait for 7 more years if I get canadian PR I will get the GC application cancelled. Canadian PR system is much more logical then the racial discriminatory GC system that US has. Anyway, I see u r waiting for ECA? from WES? how long? I have been waiting for 1.5 months but no result , so pissed off.

sorry, my GC is based on employer petition, I dont know much about self petition, but my guess is should not be a complication, if you get canadian PR you can allways cancel your GC petition (my understanding not legal advice).

Thanks Prakash. I used IQAS, not WES. I have been waiting for 10 business days. IQAS claims 15 business days so hopefully next week. I can't understand why WES takes so long. When you say 1.5 months, you mean 1.5 months from when your file entered processing?

You did the right thing, I should have done my research before using WES. Their delay may ruin my future. Because of their delay I have been forced to ask IQAS for an evaluation as well, did last Friday. Yes, 1.5 months from the day they got my transcripts. I feel like kicking the shit out of WES. Maybe IQAS will gt done before WES.

My fear regarding complications would be:

1) background check by 1 country reveals green card application in process for another country. In either case, that violates the implicit intent of seeking permanent residency in a country
2) You go for landing interview in canada whilst US green card still pending, then you get Canada PR and try to re-enter the US; customs officer notices you just got Canadian PR

These may sound stupid or crazy, but my paranoid nature forces me to seriously consider these strange eventualities.

If you have all the required documents already, it wouldn't hurt to start with IQAS. And since ITA draws are so regular, I don't see this delay as having a significant long-term impact.

If you haven't already done so, it might be a good time to apply for the PCC, the FBI is now taking 12-14 weeks so now is the best time to get that sent in

Thanks. Did not know this, will get started urgently. Yes I did get my transcripts sent to IQAS on Friday, lets see, I hope WES comes though soon else I may miss the window of opportunity ( I think CRS score cutoff will go up from July).
