Thank you for the reply sir. ang plan ko po kasi ilipat ung money ko from HK to PH bank which is BDO, i have few funds in PH, after ko humingi sana ng bank certificate dito sa HK ililipat ko ung half sa BDO then request po ako ng bank certificate. pwede po kaya un? or mas magandang isang bank account na lang. pero hk dollar kasi lalabas sa bank certificate. kung sa BDO naman po wala ako maproprovide na monthly statement. Please advise. thanks po :)
Hi, sorry to butt in! But if you intend to convert your funds later to CAD, I suggest to keep your funds in your HK bank otherwise you'll risk losing money from double conversion. (ex: hkd -> php -> cad). It's better to convert your HKD directly to CAD pag dadalhin mo na to Canada. Just show your bank certificate or bank statements from your HK bank na lang as proof of funds during your application. And you may also show your BDO bank certificate pandagdag sa proof.

And besides, the Philippine peso's value is down at the moment. The conversion from PHP to CAD is not good right now compared to last year. And according to Bloomberg, "Philippine Peso Predicted to Be Asia’s Worst-Performing Currency in 2018". So yeah, avoid converting your HKD to PHP to CAD especially now.

Thank you for the reply Ms. Tin :) Yes i understand po about the conversion. Ang prob ko po kasi pag pinagadd ko lahat ng funds ko di po enough to meet the 14k cad (min 1 year allowance for me and my common law partner) + 17k cad (1 year tuition fee). If im not mistaken i need to show atleast 31k cad equivalent to 1.2M pesos. Ang plan ko po kasi ganito, i know its not advisable pero may nabasa po ako sa ibang thread (SDS program) na before sya maglagay ng money sa Scotiabank nagrequest muna sya ng bank certificate sa philippines then sinubmit nya both. so here's my plan, Lets say i have 300k in PH and 600k in HK, i will ask for bank certificate in HK first then transfer the half to PH bank, so my PH bank will now have 600k also then request bank certificate again so parang lumalabas na meron na po akong 1.2M as show money. ang bibigay ko lang pong bank statement eh ung sa HK po. okay lang po kaya tong plan ko? thanks po :)

Oh, I get it. So ang totoo is kulang tlga funds mo (900k), ililipat mo lang para magmukhang marami.
So parang ganito?
1) HK bank: worth 600K pesos -> ask bank certificate
2) Withdraw half from HK, transfer to BDO. (Now HK bank value = 300K)
3) BDO (PH bank): 300k (initial value) + 300k (from HK bank) = 600k -> ask bank certificate
4) Show HK bank certificate + PH bank certificate = 1.2m pesos

Isn't that risky? I can't suggest na okay ang ganyang plan kase what if they find out? (kakasabi lang ni @mic-mic na serious ang mga VO in checking your docs).
I guess this is the reason why they prefer 4-6 months bank statements para makita nila yung pagpasok ng mga bulk transfers. Although marami namang naapprove kahit bank certificate lang.

Maybe try if you can show other financial documents like payslips and properties, if any, to show your financial capability. And if may sponsor naman kayo, then maybe okay lang kahit kulang yung personal funds mo.

Hi,

I need your urgent help, i will be expecting my passport with approved visa from vfs at the same time makukuha ko na rin yung bagong passport ko. Nung nag submit ako ng old passport sa vfs, hindi ko muna pinabutasan kase ang tagal ng release ng renewed passport at gahol na ako sa oras. Any problem kaya? Thanks
Sir
Nag agency po ba kayo for the SDS? Ano po ang timeline ng application niyo? Salamat!

Hello po, baka mas maganda po to save a little more kasi pag nahuli po, pwede po kayo ma-ban and that can have a negative effects on future applications po

Hindi po ako yung may kulang na funds hahaha...

@giean yup, like what he said. save a little more or find a school you can afford. all docs presented must be truthful.
mahirap na magka bad impression. baka lalo sila maghigpit in the future dahil dyan naku...

Hello po. I'm a silent reader of this forum since page 1. I plan to apply for Sept. 2018 intake and confused po ako kung kukunin ko yung MBA course sa University of Canada West. It's a private institution but I was told by the admin that their eligible for PGWP. Your thoughts po? Thank you po sa sasagot.

Hello po, ask ko lang po you mentioned na pag regular application hindi madatory ang IELTS.
Pag under regular stream how long po yung processing time?
You can find the processing time here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/
Just select:
What are you applying for? Visiting, studying, working temporarily
Which temporary residence application? Study permit
Where are you applying from? Philippines

So currently, it will take 7 weeks if you're applying from the Philippines.

They regularly update the processing times.
