(another) Physical presence calculator question

Hello folks,
Quick question - my wife landed on October 14th, 2013 and she does not qualify for any time in Canada before that date (which we specified in the calculator). Her eligibility period is from November 20, 2012 - November 20, 2017. Does she need to enter into the calculator the absence before she became PR during the eligibility (November 20, 2012 - October 13, 2013) or is it simply assumed that the time before her landing date does not qualify so does not need to be entered and we starting listing absenses after October 14th, 2013?

In the absences outside Canada you must list all absences between 2012-11-20 and 2017-11-20.

I'm not quite sure how to list the absence between 2012-11-20 to 2013-10-13. When it asks for the date left Canada - she was never in Canada until she landed in 2013-10-13. So the fields for date "left canada" and "return to canada" really don't apply. Also the paper form of the calculator (CIT407E) ask to list all absences "AFTER you became a permanent resident" so I assumed the same case for the calculator...

So select the country
From 2012-11-20 to 2013-10-13
Reason why you were in that country.
If you input it in you will see that the calculation will be 0 days, its just they need to know where you were, but it does not count as absence.

You either use the online calculator or the paper form. I recommand using the online one.

Thanks. Better to be safe than sorry. I entered in 2012-11-20 to 2013-10-14 (since that is the day she technically "returned/arrived" in Canada). Yep the calculation has 0 days for that range and my overall numbers remained the same.

Since it ask you for that timeframe, you have to put it in as you can not have any gaps within that timeframe.
