Salam Alaikm,

Im new here , but I'm waiting for too long like you guys about 15 months and still nothing ,hope we will hear good news soon.
p.s my application received at 23march2011 in Syria.

thank you guys for sharing info its really helpful and give us hope.Salam

Welcome, Ph3laa. My wife's timeline is similar to yours -- March 1. I was told by my MP's asst. -- from what the Embassy told him -- that their timeline was 15-17 months, so we're close to getting ours soon, inshallah.

Big news -- A federal judge ruled in favour of 900 skilled worker applicants who sued the Minister for his decision to throw out the nearly 300,000 applications before Feb. 28 2008.

I don't know what effect it will have, or CIC will claim it will have on our applications, but the good news is the Minister was held accountable for throwing out applications lasting several years after a target was set of between 6-12 months.

It just goes to show if you're organized and willing to fight hard enough, change can be made!

There is a major opportunity here, as I have been in correspondence with the reporter over the past few months, and the only thing stopping him from writing an article about us was his editors.

But now that most of us are waiting longer than the 6-12 months that foreign worker applicants who won their lawsuit were told to wait, his editors may have a change of heart if you email him as I just did.

Hi Nenan, I would suggest an email of only two to three paragraphs, but write it in your own words with your own feelings.

The main point is that CIC now has to process the foreign worker applications the Minister said would be done in 6-12 months, but even as a husband or wife, we are having to wait 14+ months for Damascus (15-17 for Amman), and it is causing us even more grief than the foreign workers.

The more unique and personal your email sounds, the better, I think.

Hi everyone,

Here's an easy way to draw attention to our wait:

http://www.thestar.com/special/article/1209992--the-star-wants-to-solve-your-problems

"Email us at thestarsubmissions@gmail.com with a 3-5 word description of your problem in the subject line. We’ll launch a week of solving your problems on Saturday, July 7."

I just sent them an email with the subject line, "Spousal class immigration backlog"

Congratulations JayJ, good luck :)
I have a question if you don't mind, is your wife's medical expired and if so did she renew it before they ask her ? ? ? Thanks

Thanks, Anoushka.

Her first one was done in December 2010 and expired, so she renewed it before it expired in 2011.

This was before the new policy of 15 months came into effect.
