Hi ,

Does anyone know if immigration Canada have access to ODSP information. I mean are they connected with the ODSP office and can look into your file? Any replies will help. Thanks in advance

They are separate departments; however, when you signed the forms you authorised CICto obtain any information about you from the Canadian gov't and for that information to be released to them. So yes, they can look into your ODSP file if they need to.

Denied 08-2014...appealed September 2012, won full hearing June 2014. Request for documents Aug.2014.
Hello,

I just wanted to say I had a full hearing the last week of June 2014 and won my appeal. 4 days later I received the letter from the judge that my application will continue to be processed. First week of August we received a request for updated documents, medical, police clearance from Ottawa. Does anyone know how long you have to wait after handing in all the documents to get a request for the passport?

hey siva!

No the immigration Is not connected with odsp. No one have access to your file not even your case worker cause when I went to my worker and asking some copies of the file to send for my appeal my case worker said even he don't have access to my file and he don't even know what is the reason im on odsp.. The immigration will only know that u are on odsp..

I'm currently getting my family and friends ready to write letters for me and my wife my wife is doing the same we were wondering as far as letters go should they be direct to the point coverage of facts about family/friend relation to me and how long and what they know about me eg my disposition religious beliefs and my wife etc in their own opinion or story like in their own words which may take some reading to get to what they are expressing.

Letters should be to the point. Each person should describe their own individual feelings towards you and your wife. How they met her, how they felt about her, what they like about her, why they feel you guys have a genuine relationship, etc.

By the way Talon59, I read your previous posts. Something I don't understand. You said one of the reasons your wife was refused was because she asked for an interpreter despite knowing how to speak English. But you also mentioned that in your chats, it is clear that she cannot type or read English very well, and that might have played a factor in the refusal. So is she just good at speaking but not at writing?

She reads English very well she asked for an interpreter as she does get flustered when speaking to people she doesn't know well in English, which causes her to have difficulty expressing herself. When she writes in English she does not use tenses just like in Thai as Thai has no form of tenses when speaking we say we are eating in Thai they say we eat now that does not matter if they are describing today or 3 months ago their verbs don't change so when she writes she translates it exactly the same which on occasions does make it look like she has the education of a grade schooler but far from that she is well educated I'm trying to get her into and IELTS test since they are available in Khon Kaen where she lives atm. Just finding the extra money to pay for it on their English scale she will probably score between a 5-7 which places her in the range of a modest to good user of English language.

At no point during the interview did they ask her to speak in English and the VO is not qualified to determine her level of English without any test reviewed by an accepted testing center eg IELTS which is listed as the only testing that Canada Immigration accepts officially. When we're in Thailand and I explain something in English to an English speaking thai person the instant they don't understand she always jumps in and translates it for them. I don't need to slow down my speech when I speak with her on a few words that are seldom used in regular speaking English I may have to break it down as to what it means but I never have to do that more than one time she's quick to learn and use it right back at me if the situation presents itself.

You may not like my answer. In my opinion you should tell them what ever the reason was because if you make up an answer now this might bite you in the ass later.
