Hello,

After reading so many different scenarios, one thing for sure, after you win your appeal, the people (who refused your application initially), delays your file on purpose.

This is so frustrating and ridiculous, and people sitting on the other side do not understand that, these delays are destroying family life of so many people.

hi.

I'm logging in after such a long time. Today I'm here for my friend bcoz he need help.
It's been more than 20 months and he didn't hear back from IAD after submitting appeal (Yes they got Blue Book).

His case is from Vancouver. They tried to call Vancouver appeal Office {1- (604) 666-5946} but whenever they tried to call them on that number nobody answered.

They are going through really hard time. Please help them. . .

My questions are. . .

1. Is there any other number for Vancouver?
2. How much is the waiting time in Vancouver?
3. What they should do in this situation?

Any help, suggestion or feed back from you guys. He will be great-full to you.

Hey man, I know how to hack access telephones inside CIC offices in Vancouver!

I was same as you. Waiting for no reply about my appeal application.

Here is how: Dial the general access number 604 666 5946.......wait for the recorded messages.........they ask what language, push #2 for the French.......after the French recording begins, then dial 480 or 482 0r 483.......just keep trying these local numbers until it rings. Every time I called a friendly helpful man forwarded my calls.......this is true

[size=10pt]Here is something I want to know : The Sponsor's Application of Appeal has a section where the name of a Lawyer or Representative is required if the Sponsors wants to use legal counsel during the Appeal.

What happens if the Sponsors decides to obtain a Lawyer's service after the appeal process started?

Can a Sponsor bring a Lawyer to the Appeal process if the original notification declines legal counsel?

1. Ask your friend to call 1-866-787-7472
2. Waiting time is less than 14-18 months average
3. Appears that file slipped through the gaps. Calling the 1-866 number or going through a Canadian MP can help

What about your own appeal from ON? Any success??
Hi,

Yes my appeal is from Toronto and I'm the applicant not the sponsor.
Our lawyer told us that he requested a full day hearing and they will be giving us the date in late August. Hoping for the best fingers crossed.

Thank you all for helping each other.

Technically, NO! You have to be present in Canada when applying for spousal sponsorship.

Hey Guys,

I need a suggestion, whether to hire a lawyer/ICCRC Consultant for my appeal ADR/Hearing or go solo, will all documents.
As, in many cases, even the lawyers are helpless, as they are more interested in our hard earned money rather than clearing your case in first go.

I hired a ICCRC Consultant. I think it was worth the investment. The hearing is quite formal but I am sure someone could do it themselves ... many have had success.

Basically, you try to prove your case by asking your spouse questions. You also try to anticipate the questions the minister's counsel asks so you will be prepared with good answers.

I found it helpful to have a third person look at our case. Our consultant pointed out some things that I didn't notice. For instance, she noticed that many of our photos looked staged and she even said we did not look happy in some of them. If you don't go with a consultant I recommend you show your evidence to someone who doesn't know your case that well.

Also, the consultant will be very helpful with organizing all your papers, etc.

If you do get a consultant, be prepared to participate actively in preparing the questions. Your input will be helpful.

Hi Wintersnow,

Thank you your response. I'm still waiting for the blue book, and spoke to one of the ICCRC consultant here in Toronto, I got his name from this forum only, he is Roy Kellogs.

Thanks once again,

Hi,

You always file the appeal directly, and there is no fee for applying for appeal, the only place you spend money is when you hire a lawyer or ICCRC consultant.

Procedure of applying for appeal, go to IRB (immigration refugee board) office fill up the required form (just 2 pages), and attached the refusal letter.

Then in background, the process starts, you get your blue book, (file copy), and you can appoint anyone (a Lawyer/ICCRC Consultant) on your behalf, along with any witnesses you have.

Hope info sufficient.
