The link you provided is from March 2006. I attended 5 hearings since the summer of 2013 right into fall. My lawyer even said they used to be about 3 hours long and it just was not enough time and therefore they have made them for all day long now. I am not sure of since when but this year for a full hearing it is all day long starting at 9am are the ones I attended. Some were complex ,some were not and all took all day long. Some ADR's( less informal hearings) are at 9 am also and last approximately 1 to 1.5 hours long. I am not lying so don't accuse me of doing so. I am not here to argue with you or anyone. I am here to help anyone I can. How about you?

If changes were made at IAD they would be on their information page. This information is directly from Immigration Appeal Division. I did not create their website, nor do I post information to their website. as per IAD, they can schedule appeal hearings for 2 hours, 3 hours, all day, it is up to them.

And additionally, who accused you of lying? I posted information listed on the IAD website (which I would assume is accurate), and I always welcome for others to post knowledge they have. And for my post you gave me a -1 rating??? You have posted plenty inacurrate information already, such as that Havana VO fired some VOs because of high refusal rates which is so inacurrate! Approval rates for spousal sponsorship in Havana in 2012 were at 88% and in 2013 (Jan. - June) were at 94%. You think these are low approval rates???

Let's leave it at that.I rated you? :o ??? This is very strange ???.As for bad faith appeals as they call them for family class sponsorship refusals, the full hearings are all day long now and the shorter more informal ADR's are 1 to 1.5 hours here in Vancouver. Sorry if you are not understanding me :(

Yes, DR, when you rate someone it shows on their profile. It's good you are sharing this information, and I do understand you, but what frustrates me is why the Government of Canada (CIC, IAD, IRB) when having so many employees, lawyers, etc. does not give the public proper updated, and correct information. It is our taxes that pay the decisions makers' salaries, here in Canada and in all visa offices abroad, yet it seems we have very little rights to proper service, information, and disclosure.

I have read on CIC website that the VO can refuse for the interview to be taped if the applicant wants to do so, and CIC's explanation is the following:

Taping interviews

There is no obligation to allow applicants to tape interviews because the absence of a transcript will not violate the rule of natural justice.

I need help with an appeal right away . I have been rejected to sponsor due to the CIC claiming I get assistance other than my disability PWD . I contacted Employment and assistance BC and they stated that's incorrect I am on full PWD and not assistance they and writing me a short letter about this , will I sned to Mississauga and get anything done about it or has our application gone to the Philippines already and better send letters there , does anyone have info on this happening to anyone else please.

The whole process would be more transparent if video taping/recordings were permitted and encouraged. We read too many stories of VO being unfair, agreessive at times. Trust me DR, we are all here to help each other get through the haradships immigration causes. I am not here to argue, I myself was a victim of very racial remarks by someone on this forum, who attacked my religious beliefs, I am muslim, hamdulillah, thanks to God, and I am proud to be a muslim.

Yes, I agree to video taping/recordings being permitted and yes, it should be encouraged. No we are not here to argue, but rather to help eachother through our nightmares of sponsorship refusals to successful appeals. Wow! OMG! :o :'( I am so sorry that you had been victimized of racial remarks from someone here on this forum because of your religious beliefs. OMG! This is sooo disgusting and horrific to endure that. All of us bleed red. This is appalling. I am so very sorry you had to endure this :'( (((((( hugs))))) :-* Truce and Friends? I don't and will not tolerate racial anything towards anyone. You will have my back I promise :-*

Thank you DR. yes that definately was not fun! I never judge anyone, it's not my place to do so. :) Absolutely. I wish for everyone to be reunited with their loved ones. This process is just so exhausting. I hope you at least get to visit your spouse often during this process. I really do wish you a speedy and successful ADR, seems you are well prepared with good legal representation and your own research.

Good for you :D Be proud and stay proud. Karma to those who oppose. What goes around comes around. ;)

Thankyou jomz :D I also really wish you the same, a speedy, breezy, successful ADR. Yes, it sure is exhausting. Very trying times for all of us. :(

Well, well, if the goal is 'natural justice', doesn't it make sense to mandate all interviews be taped? I strongly believe the visa officer is less likely to do the things some of the members here allege if this was the case.

I am also very disappointed that interviews are not mandated to be recorded. Perhaps if they were, and VOs were forced to be more honest and fair we would not need such a long appeal process.

A couple of other things that I start to wonder about, how many sponsors who cannot attend the interview in person actually get called by the VO? I know I did not get called, which bothers me since the VO asked my wife to describe the work I do. I don't recall anywhere in the application I described my job. So how can the VO confirm the answer my wife gave?

I try very hard not to be depressed or angry, but I do find I am fighting some fits of rage about the interview.

Anyways, thanks for all the support. I hope I can put a good enough case together to get and ADR.

I heard they are considering to record the interviews. The notes that the VO wrote had almost nothing to do with what my husband said about himself, about me and about us.

Hi guys, Today I had full hearing after 2yrs after getting rejected. It was in Winnipeg. The IRB member was from calagry and our hearing took 2hrs. They only questioned my wife and were satisfied with her answers. We did have a lawyer and he prepared us very well.

Thanks
