I have asked MP to email them and he did lets see. He is pretty good, he got me their responses within few days even earlier. I am just confused and anxious to know the result.

Not for my hubby. Sorry :( I am not sure about this part for you. Maybe best to call and check?Hubby was told the next day after the interview by via phone call. They did request him to bring his passport to his interview. He was there for over 3 hours  and was led to believe he was getting his visa :'( the whole time.He answered all of the questions. We have 10 years together :'( Found out that recently all of the staff at the VO have been fired due to too many refusals. Wow! I wish you good luck and I hope you are not refused.

I hope you get some answers and results soon from your MP. Yes, it does sound confusing and I know I would be anxious to know the result like you. Try to stay positive as best you can. Yes,it would be difficult for sure.Stay strong! :-* :D

Oh my goodness! So someone actually holds the visa officers accountable? Unfortunately, it could slow things down unless they have newly trained and experienced staff ready to go.

Hi,
My brother got married in Punjab India last year Dec 25 2012. His wife just had an interview yesterday, and her permanent residence to Toronto Canada was refused. The interviewer asked her questions such as:

1) Why didn't your inlaws return to India after your marriage
2) Why didn't your husband come back after the marriage?

The answers to the questions were because her inlaws were currently working and could not take out vacation to visit.
Her spouse did not have access to a break from his work place.

Another question they asked was why wasn't she standing/hugging him in the pictures on the day of the marriage

They were really rude to her and told her to take her passport and go.

We are planning to file an appeal when the rejection letter comes, I was wondering how long does the appeal process take after we file an appeal with the lawyer. My brother has already waited a full year for her, and he is worried that he has to wait another few months.

If anyone can help out that'll be great.

Thanks

So sorry, your sister-in-law was refused.
1. were her in-laws at the wedding? I think the officer is questioning whether her in-laws support the marriage. If you go for an appeal, be sure to bring evidence of support e.g. emails between her and in-laws, or in-laws talking about her lovingly, calls from in-laws to her, even emails between your brother, you, etc that refer to her, etc.

2. How long has it been since they saw each other? The officers don't like it when a couple stay too long without visiting each other. Also take proof of ongoing contact between them since the marriage to present. Hope it turns out well.

Hi thanks for the reply,

Yes the in-laws and very close family were at the wedding. My family including mother and father fully supported the wedding. They never seen each other since January 2013. There was a lot of proof and evidence to back up the marriage, but we still don't understand why it was rejected, but I guess that will be clear until a letter of rejection is received. But my question is do you know how long it will usually take for the appeal process?

Oh Wow, 28 months even if I get a top immigration lawyer in Toronto?

I think so i think this is due to the wait time as other ppl are also waiting before you. Just a question what did the VO told ur bhabi that he is rejecting ? On what basis ? And did he only ask her two questions as you mentioned above?

Those two questions, and

they also asked, why do you want to go to Canada, and I believe she was trying to show the pictures of the wedding album, but they refused to look at them and say this is not a genuine wedding.

Not sure about that! Just rumors for now is my take on this. It could go either way I suppose trained versus untrained.Whatever! What is your personal story here? Were you refused and biding your time here like the rest of us? If so I wish you good luck. Cheers!
