Language Requirements

Do I need to get a language assessment/test?

You must supply a language assessment in your SINP application if you do not have a valid job offer in your application, or if you have a valid job offer in a National Occupational Classification (NOC) C or D occupation. Click here to find out how to determine if your occupation is a NOC C or D.

If the job offer is for a job in a regulated occupation, there may be an English language requirement for the profession. Ask your regulatory body if you need to be tested.

How can I meet the language requirements?

As of July 1, 2012, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) requires certain applicants (see the question above) to provide valid results from a language test administered by a designated testing agency. The acceptable tests and equivalence to CLB 4 are:

1) the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) General Training, minimal score:

Listening – 4.5
Reading – 3.5
Writing – 4
Speaking – 4

Hi sujwal what about you did you get any information about nomination or any documents demand from SINP?on my site I am still waiting for my nomination my two years will complete next month ):

Hi greatman,
unfortunately nothing yet. Next month it will be 2 yrs for me as well. I dont think i will get update until november or later. Its nearly the end of august and they havent asked anything from august applicant. so i guess it will take more time.

Hello Makenn,
I guess you are talking about the skilled worker, The only thing i know is Yes the Visa office will demand for IELTS for every case which go through nominee program. But i am not sure how much minimum score you require. Also, as i know the minimum 5.5 will be enough unless specified by SINP.
The only suggestion i can give is contact the SINP regarding that or write more clearly about your situation, many of the members may know the answer.

I applied on December 2011 and i had received File number and still now there is no response from SINP, can any one tell me which month of applications are processing now ??

hi suujwal,hw r u i am deep i frm india ,i applied last yr2012 oct,and get my jo on march 2013,im frm hotel industry, my employer uplod my jo for approval on 21st june,my consultant told me within 60 days i could get the approval,so can you tell me the email id of sinp,and do we realy get the visa to canada :-[

yes it is, our online status hasn't changed a bit... since january of 2012, it says, "medical results has been received"... i already sent them an email last week, and they asked to send scan copy of my husband passport... don't know why, still waiting for their email...

Today on 25 Aug the age of my application in SINP is 24 months (2 years) and i have not received any response from them in 2 yrs.... :-\
