How r u all, brothers? Those who r coming shortly please try to contact somebody who can refer you to some white-collar job. The reality is: without reference it's really tough here to get a job as per your expectation. hence, it's better to harbor a mentality to do any factory/ survival job initially forgetting who we were in Bangladesh. My experience is: I found myself unfit for any survival jobs (though nearly all the forum-mates i am in contact with are doing a job which don't go with their qualifications). And I got admitted into Centennial College in 'Software Engineering Technology in Interactive Gaming-co-op' course, which may help me getting a good job in future. Experienced persons here also recommend having a Canadian degree first rather than hopping into any odd job. But exceptions are always there. Some of our forum-mates like canadalove apa r doing fine from the very beginning. I am looking forward to applying for OSAP (though once i'll have to pay it back) and trying to manage a part-time work in off days. I think it's the best decision. What do you say??

[Come here. You'll love the country. Everything is awesome here except the employment system. We r roaming about all the excellent places here.]
nice experience sharing with forum, but it depends upon person to person and profession to profession.

Alhamdulillah We have landed yesterday at around 5:45 PM Toronto time. Below are my experiences at Pearson airport.

1. Landing: After landing as everywhere went to immigration. they looked at visa and asked about money(I had less than $5000 cash) then went to landing processing area. There just provided COPR and Canada address and after around 10 minutes we signed the COPRs and Landing done!

2. Customs: Just submitted the goods to follow form (B4) after collecting luggage. The officer even returned my detailed excel sheet. declared I would bring my 2 cars from USA and some Items from BD...one form did it all. Total: 5-7 minutes.

And thats it just around 30 mins for the whole thing!

Fund Issue: My hinch and hhsumon bhai's opinion is right...they never asked for my money...I had just above 4500 USD cash......due to money laundering issue they mostly try to have us declared cash/TC etc...

I went from USA and honestly I felt ppl are more polite at the airport....the US ppl are great too but their common expression might seem as rude to us...but for those of u coming from BD inshaaAllah u would love it here.

InshaaAllah I would go to day for bank account, Phone, SIN and other stuff...staying now at friends house inshaaAllah would go to semi basement from 1st October. Please pray for us.

Last but not the least, I am grateful top this forum for many help and advices May Allah bless us all!

Allah hafiz.

Almost every bank ( such as, Scotiabank, TD Canada Trust, CIBC, Royal ) offers Credit cards with no annual fee but higher interest rate ( 26% to 29%). But if you pay off the outstanding balance within the billing cycle then you don't have to pay the interest amount.
