what about a bank draft in favor of myself?? after opening an account there, can I encash it??

you can take bank draft but it will take much time to enchash to your canada account. tc is the same as bank draft . so better to take tc.

yeah TC is the best...safe and secured.
TC has no validity period i.e valid till encashment, where as BD has a valid period of 6 months.
if you lose TC then you can also get your money back by showing relevant documents

did u get the status "Received by Visa office" before getting the status "In process"
if yes then SGVO has already issued your 2nd AOR

CHC's around the world always issue 2nd AOR. its that sometime applicants dont get them for external reasons ( email problem, snail mail delivery glitches, etc).

try to get your file number from your consultant; that's your right.
then check your status. if it says "In process" with a line
"We reviewed your application and started processing on dd/mm/2011"
then it;s a great news for you. and YES 2nd AOR is sent via regular mail.
