AHCIP Coverage For International Students

Hi all,

Is the healthcare coverage for international students who will study for at least a year in Alberta virtually the same as that of a resident? I've read through the AHCIP website and it seems that way, but I want to validate my understanding with the experience of those who actually study in the province. I'm an upcoming international student, and I just want to know if I should purchase additional private insurance before I fly to Canada.
