I looked on the CIC website but couldn't find an answer. After bill C-6 comes into effect can we provide a mailing address in the USA and receive notices for test/oath to it? I found the the Change Address page: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/change-address.asp but it lists specific categories that can update address to USA, and grant of citizenship is not one of them. May be it is due to C-24?

Any particular reason why you might think C6 would change conditions for mailing address or just speculation ? Do you not plan to reside in Canada once a citizen.

No. You are still expected to provide Canadian mailing address. This will remain the same as under the old 3/4 rule, and will be under the 3/5 rule when it comes into effect.

Agreed - nothing to do with C-24. Before the current rules came into place, only Canadian addresses were allowed. It's not going to be any different post Bill C-6.

No it was always like that. C-24 didn't change anything in this regards. Even before C-24, it was expected that people applying for citizenship wanted to stay in Canada.

Also want to mention this: Don't bother with mail forwarding to US address. It won't work. All CIC mail will have "DO NOT FORWARD" on their mail. This is to prevent people who want to live outside Canada awaiting mail for test and oath.

False. CIC mail does not say "Do Not Forward." At least not all of it, but it is not a smart thing to do, because by the time it gets to you in the US, you will have missed whatever it was they were mailing you about.

Thanks for providing proof of evidence that cic mail do stamp their mail "do not forward". What is interesting is that it is part of their envelope detail. Not an rubber stamped "do not forward".

PR cards are one thing. Unless, something has changed rather recently, mail in citizenship cases from IRCC/CIC is not stamped Do Not Forward. But, once again, it is not something I would really try.....
