Pleasy, can someone help me with the affidavit.

-First, who can translate my documents? Can my friends translate them? In this case, i can get the affidavit from them and get it notarized. But i called CIC today, she told me that my friends can not translate the documents.
But i have read on this form, anyone can translate except family members as long as an affidavit is provided.

-I called the embassy of my country in Canada. They said they can translate them but will not provide an affidavit. So my question is that since the documents are translated by the consulate and get stamped, are they ok to go without an affidavit?

Thanks. I am planning to file my PR this Jan mid. So if someone can help with this, i will really appreciate that:)

If you google "alberta translators assocation, you will reach the ATIA website, which has a members directory.

http://www.atia.ab.ca/index.php/directory

If you find a certified translator, then you don't need an affidavit. (No, the translator does not have to be from the same province as you, but, it's a place to start. If you can't find one in AB, try ON or BC...)

If you don't want to use a certified translator, then your translator can use the following form to make an Affidavit - the translator has to sign this in front of a notary / commissioner of oaths -

www.saskimmigrationcanada.ca/translator-affidavit/

Hi, do you remember if you had it translated by a friend and then used affidavit or not? Thank you in advance.
