For marriage after AOR, I have got this list of documents to be submitted. Could you let me know which forms are to be filled by spouse and which by principal applicant (the ones marked in bold)?

1. A new Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008) with supporting documents,
2. (If applicable) A Schedule A - Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) form,
3. (If applicable) An Additional Dependants/Declaration (IMM 0008DEP) form,

4. (If applicable) A signed Additional Family Information (IMM 5406) form,
5. A copy of the birth certificate, marriage certificate or proof of common-law relationship,
6. A copy of the family member’s valid passport,
7. Police certificates for all countries where the family member over the age of 18 has lived for more than 6 months since turning 18,
8. A letter of explanation, and
9. If applicable, the proof of payment.

I filled all of these documents and submitted them last week. To be on the safer side, I had to fill for myself and my wife. Anyone they don't need, they can discard it.

@Mfoniso Urua

The thing is I dont remember the exact dates that I put in for personal history and address history. If i put in different this time in form IMM5669 compared to what I submitted in Express entry profile, there will be inconsistency. I am afraid about that.

Hmmmm...... This is really complex bro. Thats why its always best to have a copy of whatever you are submitting to IRCC. Maybe you need to consult a lawyer for advice or immigration specialist

Hello members
I have received a response from IRCC that I need to complete and submit the documents for adding a family member to Case Processing Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. However, it is directing me to postal mail address when i click on the link. Can I submit the documents through web form or do I need to send them through regular postal mail?

Hi everyone,

Sharing my status so far:

AOR: 25-Nov-2020
Submission: 18-Dec-2020
Bio: 26-Feb-2021
Marriage: 10-Mar-2021
Webform sent to inform IRCC: 25-Mar-2021
Received email from Paris: 12-Apr-2021
Webform sent with Spouse docs: 21-May-2021

And now waiting for them to acknowledge and update my profile or at least for them to request additional documents or spouse bio but nothing so far…

I hope anyone with similar conditions gets some update. Please let me know if you are in similar situation or know when they would acknowledge and update.

Hi, Please confirm whether it is important to add spouse name in Passport as I got married in Dec 2020 and my AOR is Jan2020. I have already forwarded the documents to add my spouse in my application but in response they said it has been sent to concerned department!! @legalfalcon

There is no such requirement to add your spouse name in the passport as that IRCC needs is a marriage certificate.

So I have read posts about people getting married after AOR where usually only one spouse has an AOR and then adds the other one on their application later on.

But in my case, both me and my partner have already got our AOR in March under FSW-O category separately and now we are going to be married soon.

Does anyone has any idea or gone through a similar case so that we know what to do in this case and are prepared before raising any formal request with IRCC?

Or will this case be also similar to one's where usually one person has AOR and adds other person. But then will I have to again pay the fees and arrange for all documents again for the secondary applicant since both of us have done that already separately.
