well I am not sure if you are talking about paper mail..but they do send out a confirmation e-mail...but thats only once the case is approved....soo I guess you'll just have to wait 45 days
you can send the documents through registered mail, and just have peace of mind that way I guess :S

Yup, I provided my email address but Missasauga still contacted me via post. Yet London contacted me only via e-mail. I guess it just depends on the individual.
