What are the responsibilities of the person who wrote a letter of invitation if the person they invited and is visiting decides to overstay or breaks the law?
Long story short: someone wants to visit canada and is asking us to write them a letter of invitation, and we're not really comfortable doing that.

None really that are financial or anything like that. The only possible thing that could be an impact is that it could possibly impact future invitations. Let's say (for example) to give an invite to a sibling who then overstays, that could impact the ability of another sibling or parent to get a visa in the future. Won't necessarily happen, but that would be the sole real risk.

we did but it's family and there's been drama.... so wanted to see if there's additional things we can show them so they'd back off. but it's all good, we just said no.
