While you wait for your hearing you can’t study. You can try to apply for a study permit. There is no guarantee it will be approved and you’d have to pay international fees. You will have to apply for a work permit. You will be covered under the refugee health program. You should currently have health coverage if you are an international student. This is going to be a very long process. 3-4 years is accurate. If you get refused it will have lasting effects on your ability to travel.
