Obviously you don't have to come here with empty luggage. But still, it's about Fashion, And you will definitely land up doing shopping in the very first week. So just advising to save some money to buy stuff from here.
And please don't bring winter clothes from India. Trust me , they won't help you .

Thats what i have been trying to tell them :)

P.S = If you get your hands on EXPORT QUALITY CLOTHES in India/Pakistan .. you can take a chance to buy them but please just for experience.

Guys this might sound bit stupid but I wanna ask; if Pakistani jeans works in Canada ? , I mean the stuff is suitable according to Canadian weather ?

People already in Canada might answer this

THanks 8)

been here about 8 months, throughout winter, took 5 pairs of Levis, only one tore and they have served me very well :P.... i would advise buying them from Pakistan, quality wise they are not that good here. plus u have to pay for they to be altered here and stuff.

Mention you bought ORIGINAL LEVIS.

not the Chinese/ Thailand stuff :)

A Pakistani Canadian here !!

For the first year, just buy Plain Dark Shade jeans.. DO not worry u will be fine.

If u are ok with buying Levis branded jeans from Pakistan (almost 3500 Rs approx), then u can easily afford Aeropostale and American Eagle brand jeans here for 30/40 $ , but as someone mentioned. U will end up paying 10$ for alterations.

But i would recommend that do not go for Faded colors. Look for Dark, plain, single colors. Plain simple Jeans is the way to go. Cant go wrong with that.

For T shirts i would suggest , Simple Polo shirts. If u can find Lacoste , Polo ( #2) shirts... U might have an edge :)

Do bring a Suit with u as u might need it for presentations. U can get it stitched cheaper then what u will find it here for.

Dont go on buying the most thickest Jacket u can find. It will be a waste. We use a concept here called Layering, to keep us warm.
Its not one big jacket. Its actually the layer of clothes u wear that will keep u warm.
Having said that, good quality sweater, ( Plain single color) might be helpful. Hoodies are very common here too.

No! They shrink due to excessive cold, and sometimes they even shiver. :P

You know... I'm from Singapore. The first two years I made stupid mistake of buying shoes there then bringing them back to Vancouver. In Singapore, they would fit me perfectly. The weather there is hot and humid. Once I bring them back to Vancouver, they ALWAYS become too tight. I had to give away two or three brand new shoes to my friends because of that.

Nice chuck of information mates! :) Lets hope we (poor asians) and (most poor sub-continent asians) face this Canadian Cold with Happy Face lol.

ive lived in Abbottabad my whole life lol!!!! Cold is not THAT bad, considering u spend most of the time indoors (buses/trains are all centrally heated)... however windchill is what gets you... it could be -10 out with no wind and you can be extremely comfortable. however it can be 1 or 2 or even 5 or 10 outside and with windchill it is unbearable... POINT TO NOTE: a good windcheater is necessary
