hi i submitted my application for permenant residence inland in january 2011, i got my work permit through which i applied for at the same time in january 2012, i thought i would have heard more by now as they perdicted it should have been looked at in 18 months. anyone with a similar problem thanks mike

The times they publish are for 80% of applications. It sounds like your application is in that 20%, unfortunately.

Have you ordered your electronic case notes? If not, you might wish to do so. See http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-personal.asp - since you are in Canada, it's free. They will pull your notes shortly after you make the request and then send them along to you ~30 days after your request (so the notes are about a month old, but at least you can see the status of your case.)

Since it is past normal processing time you can also inquire as to the status of your application (such as by calling the CIC call centre).
