a couple questions

im sorry if these questions have common sense answers, but i just want to make sure. thank you in advance.
1. on the sponsor side of the application, if it is a marriage and not a common law what do i do with the declaration of common law form? or what about medical if there are no kids? or use of representation if im doing it all myself? do i just not include these? or do i write n/a on them?
2. on sponsor ship questionaire questions number 7:what if im currently employed? which date do i put it as ending? or i leave it blank?
3. on sponsorship questionaire question number 13: if i answer yes, do i still have to explain ? (even though the arrow is only on "no"?

4. if my american wife is living with me in canada as a visitor (with a visitor record) can i put her address of residence and mailing address as a canadian address?

3 - No explanation to write, just tick Yes.

4 - Do you mean Q 6 on IMM1344, if yes, her residence is the address in the US, the mailing address is where you are now.

When I first saw this I thought it could be read both ways.

The form asks Q5 "current country of residence" your lady is clearly in Canada, but she is a resident of the USA.

When I filled out the form the CIC helpline informed me that even though I was physically in Canada living with my wife (I am from a Visa exempt country) I should state that Q5 = United Kingdom and Q 6 = Citizen.


Seems odd to me, of course they may be wrong

one last questions regarding address's! on the application to sponsor and undertake question 6.a and 7. where the person i am sponsoring lives and mailing address should i still put american address for living and mailing address for where she is right now (in canada)?
im sorry if im being repetitive i just want to make sure the answers are right so that they dont send it back.

6a = address in the USA

7 = Address in Canada - if that is where you want everything mailed io.

As I said elsewhere, the helpline does not always give the right answer.

You can do it either way.
I'm in Canada staying with my husband on visitor status. I put our Canadian address as my residential address and sent a copy of my visa + visitor record (stamps on passport) and explained the situation. CIC had no problems with this, my husband was approved as a sponsor and the VO has sent us mail to our Canadian address.

I agree that you can do it either way. Just explain clearly. If the applicant is 'living' with you in Canada, but really just visiting, technically putting the applicant's foreign address as the residential address is correct; but plenty of forum members have used their sponsor's address in Canada as their residential address even though they were just 'visiting', and have had no problems.
Just add an explanation, no matter which you choose. That way the visa officer will see that you were not trying to misrepresent yourself, and the VO will also clearly see that you are living together, which is good evidence that the relationship is genuine.
