I think this link might be better: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/ndvdls/fq/txrts-eng.html

Check the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) link provided by the previous poster. As for cost of living, hard to say really. 80K is a fairly good salary but it all depends on how you want to live. From what I've seen though a family of 4 can live fairly comfortably on that income. Rent is anywhere from 800 - 1600 a month, I would say for a mind range 2 bedroom apartment downtown to budget around 1200-1400. A townhouse out in the burbs is about the same. You're going to need a car so it depends on what you drive of course. Utilities depend on where and what you are living in. From there, it just depends on the lifestyle you want. If you're eating out once a week, that's going to add up.

So without any further info it's hard to really tell you what you want. But 80k is a fairly good salary, if you live within your means.

About 5000 a month, also depends on how many dependents you have for the deductions, it could be more if you have more dependents.

Hi barsindoo and jlacombe and newyorker

Thnx for the info, I am single and could you please let me know the Tax percentage? Here in US its roughly 35% on H1b (federal and state) like that how much will it be for Alberta state tax and federal?

I heard Canada taxes are more than USA taxes? Is it true? I guess 80k means I may get 4,100 per month correct me if i am wrong?

Thanks

On the website is showing that you should pay 22% of tax, Alberta shows as 10% of province tax. - I am in the US and I don't pay that much taxes (35%) this is too much.

With that said, you may be getting $4200 to $4400 per month. This is just an estimate, and is good enough for a single person.

if u r single i would say u save around 2000 - 3500 $ every month after all household and domestic expenses
