Hi guys,

I came to Canada in April 2010 and worked for a consulting company for 6 months. In Nov 2010, I changed my job and joined a Canadian company on a 3 years WP with an approved LMO.

Technically I completed my 2 years in April 2012 but I did not apply under CEC category as I did not have proper reference letter / employment letter for my 6 months of experience. So I decided to complete my two years of experience with the second company and apply in Dec 2012.

Now I have following question -
1. In one of the form where you are asked to provide your 3 years of experience in Canada, I have mentioned 6 months of experience ( April 2010 - Nov 2010) and have attached the proof of employment which does not comply with the requirement for CEC.( It does not contain what my salary is, working hours and job duties)

I dont want to include that 6 months of experience (April 2010 - Nov 2010) in my application due to lack of proper reference letter.

How do I make sure that VO is aware of it and he/ she only takes Nov 2010 - Dec 2012 experience into account when I worked for second company.

2. Do I need to attach any explanation letter so that there is no confusion?

Preface your application with a submission letter detailing the discrepancy. Do you have any proof that you worked for the company? You could also state that the employer was un-cooperative in providing the information needed. You should be fine.

I dont think there is any discrepancy. Yes I have the experience letter on company letter head ...but it does not have detailed job duties and responsibilities listed so dont want to count for CEC experience.

Yes, I was told that we require the responsibilities for last 3 years

Check IMM5610E.PDF which is the check list.

Point No 10, Bullet pt No 3.

You must include this. If you do not, it is misrepresentation. You could add an explanation filling in the missing information, but since you meet the requirements on the basis of your other job, it won't matter, one way or the other.

The VO will be aware if it. As long as you qualify based on your 2nd letter, there is no issue.

Hi Jes,

Thanks for taking out sometime to respond to my query.

Yes I am including my experience ...for April 2010 - Nov 2010 but I only have experience letter which you get it once you leave company. It does not specify job duties . salary etc etc as required...... And that is why I want to make sure that VO only counts Nov 2010 - Dec 2012 experience where I have proper reference letter from my employer.
