LMO is not required for nursing registration. Unfortunately, just in the second quarter of 2010 CRNM (Manitoba) rules was changed. Residency in Canada is now part of the requirements for registration. You got to have a PR or at least a working visa to qualify for registration. Lucky me, I got ther registration before this new rule was implemented. Same rules applies to CNO(Ontario). I just do not know with CARNA.

I am currently working here in Saudi Arabia. God Bless.

Hi Sultanali,

Thanks for starting this, so have you left the other RN thread ?, I too have requested couple of times my other nursing friends to use english, but I still see lot of non english being used in the RN thread.
I have one suggestion for you, Is it possible to rename the thread from 3152 Registered – Strictly English Only
to 3152 Registered Nurses – Strictly English Only probably it is easy for a new commer in this forum to identify the right discussion thread, any how I'm into this thread and also will look into the other RN thread also coz we still have friends in RN parent thread who still communicate in english.

God Bless us all..

Cheers
Bindu

yes sultanali do something mate

No that is not true ... you may apply for Assesment and enroll your self for Exam they willl require your PR proof when you will pass your exam and apply for certificate :) .. so chiled and send all documents except copy of PR...

Hi Sultanali,

I'm applying for intial assesment for CRNE in ONTARIO via CNO ,I got an Application for a Certificate of Registration in the General Class form via email from CNO on 19-Oct-2010 , I have got couple of doubts , Kindly clarify the below

1)As per your update below I would not need a PR in Canada to apply for assesment in Ontario, please confirm.

2)As per the application which I got on 19-Oct-2010 the payment for International Graduates applying as a Registered Nurse (RN) was $678.00 (HST included), is it the same now or has there be any changes in the fee ?

3) Can I mail back the same Application for a Certificate of Registration in the General Class form which I recieved from CNO or do I need to request for a new application package?

4) Has there been any modification or purposed modification in IELTS score ? ( The current IELTS score requirement as per the site is 6.5 for listening, writing, reading and for speaking 7)

5) Is there any prelimenary exam I need to take to get the eligibility to apprear for CRNE .

Edit:

6)I have got 3yrs of experience as RN till 2005, I was working as a clinical instsructor till 2008 , I took a break from my job to complete my Master in Nursing in 2010, in this scenario what should I do to show proof of recent safe nursing practice for applying for CRNE as per the CNO rules (1,125 hours within the last five years or graduation within the last five years prior to registration), is there any alternate for this ?

Waiting for your reply, God Bless you.

Warm Regards
Bindu

Seems I have misunderstood the CNO CRNE eligibility requirements. Sorry if I did so. But in Manitoba, residency in Canada is now part of the requirement to apply for CRNE eligibility. For CRNM (Manitoba please click the link below:

YOu dont need to send this application by email its has to be by post as you will submit docs too ... if you recived your application a while ago then you should get updated one incase there might be any changes .. but usually they dont change it....

4) Has there been any modification or purposed modification in IELTS score ? ( The current IELTS score requirement as per the site is 6.5 for listening, writing, reading and for speaking 7)
No Changes in IELTS Score

5) Is there any prelimenary exam I need to take to get the eligibility to apprear for CRNE .

No Only You need to send Documents If u Eligiable then you need to sit in exam for Certificate Liecence

Hi sultanali!
I am new to this thread. I applied to CNO 19 oct 2010, got a reply by mail 20 Dec 2010, stating they had received the transcripts form my RN and Midwifery schools and would start assesing my application. I would be informed of the result of the assessment within 12 weeks. Will keep you all informed.

Please would you be so kind to send CRNE prep. materials to me also!

Thanks
Olga
