Hi, I've applied my PR *end of February* but instead of the AOR, I've received an email with "Submission Confirmation Letter" on friday. Does everyone receive this before AOR? It says in it I still can't link my application. I've called IRCC today and they told me they can't estimate when I'd receive an AOR.

I don't understand why it took so long for them to confirm that they have received the documents if it's not even reviewed if it's complete. The number mentioned in it starts with XG.

How long usually after this possibly will I get the AOR?

Support Petition e‑6601: Accelerate PR for Refugees

Dear Canada Immigration Forum community,

I’ve signed Petition e‑6601, and I urge you to consider supporting it too. This petition calls on the Canadian government to:

  • Fast-track permanent residency applications for all protected persons
  • Begin processing dependents abroad immediately after asylum is approved
  • Increase transparency and improve communication within the IRCC process

Refugees who have already been granted protection status in Canada often face years-long delays before receiving permanent residency. These delays affect their ability to work freely, access opportunities, and reunite with loved ones abroad. A faster PR process would bring stability, security, and dignity sooner.

How you can help:

  1. Sign the petition on the Parliament of Canada website:
    https://www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-6601
  2. Confirm your signature via email—unconfirmed signatures won’t be counted
  3. Share the petition with your network. Every signature helps send a clear message to our leaders.

By supporting this petition, we’re asking for a more efficient and compassionate system—one that helps refugees move forward with their lives and contribute to Canadian society without unnecessary delays. Thank you for taking a moment to support this cause

Timeline.

Applied: march 2024

That's great, IF you are a dependant outside Canada - then you can apply for pre-arrival services as the eligibility letter explained such. I did mines yesterday

Timeline.

Applied: march 2024
Aor: April 20

Whats next? And how far from the end am I?
not sure how far from the end we are since we are prettyy much in the same position, but what next is the medical request letter IF you have not done that, then background checks - possible redoing of the police record if its too old, then passport request letter pending the final decision is successful. what I can say though - whatever is happening now is a positive indication for the end

Which date of March did you apply I’m also March 7 applicant didn’t heard back
Which country are you from? I and few others here are being processed under the DR2 category - centralized concurrent processing (that include around 9 countries) - typically have a one year timeline for the processing though its not so but shorter compare to others not under the same category as me
