It appears that IRCC is prioritizing newer applications and updating its processing approach by focusing primarily on applications from August 2024 onward to have those process within the processing standard, while only minimally addressing cases that fall outside the standard processing timeline, based on what I am currently observing.

Below is the timeline for my spouse’s application and myself - dependant overseas
  • February 9, 2024 – Application for PR submitted
  • April 2024 – Application requested to be redone and resubmitted
  • July 14, 2024 – Spouse in Canada requested to complete biometrics
  • July 5, 2024 – Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) issued
  • August 13, 2024 – Dependants requested to complete biometrics and provide police certificates
  • September 2, 2024 – Dependants submitted biometrics and police certificates
  • May 23, 2025 – Request received to complete IMM 5409
  • May 30, 2025 – Eligibility letter issued to spouse in Canada (dependants referenced in the letter)
  • May 31, 2025 – Dependants outside Canada received pre‑arrival services letter
Since then, there has been no further communication or progress.

Maybe your spouse should contact IRCC request for details on background check, that status for info sharing, criminality, and security.
Sucks that some files get stuck at security

My dependent has not received it yet, although everything was progressing well together. Has anyone experienced this before?
Hey I am in the same situation. Please let me know if you have any update. P1 was for both of us. But P2 had only my option.

I have noticed that applicants who applied between August and September 2024 are now receiving responses. However, I am not seeing any updates for those who applied between January and April 2024.
Since my Spouse in Canada got Eligibility on May 30, 2025 and I (dependant overseas) got pre-arrival on June 9, 20,25 - nothing since
If you have received any responses from IRCC for applications submitted in the first quarter of 2024, could you share what type of responses IRCC is issuing?
Applied : 23 February 2024
Biometric: April 10, 2024
FBI clearance: April 10, 2024
Additional information asked somewhere in mid 2025 (for spouse)
January last week: pre arrival
February first week: Eligibility letter
P1 : Beginning of March
P2: 2 days after P1
Ecopr: March 26, 2026

What is the timeline?
My timeline is outlined above. We are now awaiting the completion of security checks, as well as P1, P2, and eCOPR. I am wondering whether I may be the one causing delays in the security checks, given that I am the dependant residing overseas. This is due to my extensive travel history (not to any Middle Eastern or specific African countries) and the fact that I work in a highly sensitive area within my country for a foreign government.
