The part that security can take up to two years i dont think is correct, even if you are war torn country, it doesn't take two years because when you apply for refugee, before your hearing, they run a security check on you. Before COVID, the refugee PR used to be processed within 12 months, it's all just stupid politics and polices of immigration. Because some 2024 applicants are already getting their PR( i know few people who got it), meanwhile us 2023 applicants are past two years. Today, I lost my second job offer because of this delay. they single handedly just ruining lives. persoanlly cant wait to get once i get my canadian passport, im out of here . Everything runs backwards in this country .

I agree in all what you said but just a question, why they dont accept you with work permit? I had renew my work permit 3 times. When I got a job offer just asked me, are you PR or Work Permit? I said WP, and date of expiration. It is in Alberta. Is it different in other provinces? You should have the right to work with your WP.

Because those offers were from defence companies so you need to obtain security clearance which only PR and citizenship can obtain . Not WP

I didnt know. I got my police certificate and never have problem but maybe is different.
Im August 2023 applicant and Im suffering too because Im away from my family, more than 4 years away from my child. Let´s see if this year finally something happen. Let´s trust.

Hello, I am a June 2023 applicant. I spoke with an IRCC agent today, and she informed me that the security stage has not yet started on my file. She also mentioned that although the current processing time shows three months remaining, there is a strong possibility that my application may not be finalized within that timeframe.

She explained that the security stage can vary significantly - sometimes it takes as little as two weeks, and in other cases, it can take up to two years. She advised me to continue living my life and remain positive, as there is nothing that can be done to expedite this stage of the process.

there are possibilty that that it turns from not started to passed as i have seen many cases in which security is turned not started to passed
