No, it was normal, I think it took longer only coz i needed the police clearance from a third country (Australia), I’m Indian citizen.
No reason, they just haven’t gotten to it yet. The officer hasn’t started to do security. They said everything was fine on my end, no pending documentation.
The part that security can take up to two years i dont think is correct, even if you are war torn country, it doesn't take two years because when you apply for refugee, before your hearing, they run a security check on you. Before COVID, the refugee PR used to be processed within 12 months, it's all just stupid politics and polices of immigration. Because some 2024 applicants are already getting their PR( i know few people who got it), meanwhile us 2023 applicants are past two years. Today, I lost my second job offer because of this delay. they single handedly just ruining lives. persoanlly cant wait to get once i get my canadian passport, im out of here . Everything runs backwards in this country .
I know things could be frustrating. I am also in your shoes having to leave my family expecially my baby. Canada however has given us an opportunity to live. Some of us escaped untold missery and some of us could have died a painful death but Canada rescued us and gave us a reason to live. They owed us nothing cos we were not born here. Some of us were betrayed by our own country and people. Hearing you say you are just here till you get your passport and then you will leave really hurt to hear. As someone who Canada has rescued and protected, I feel sad, muchless Canadians. These are the issues Canadians have with immigration which makes getting PR delayed.
I have been here for 10 years man . I loved canada so much more than my home country , i got my education here. Built life here with so many friends but every goddamn few years they changed the immigration rules , or new policies so I had no choice but to go this route. I understand if you are new to canada you wont feel the way i feel . But if you been here for as long as ive been and you see nothing is improving then you do the same. There is reason no matter how much canada imports immigrants, they still have declining population. Because no one stays here. They all get their passport and leave . My professor who was here for 20 years left last week cause he was so done with canada and whats happning to it. In most countries you live min 5 years for example Uk you get automatically PR . How does it make sense a PR takes almost 30 months to process. Its insane
