October 2023 applicant. Processing time shows 5 months, whereas it was 19 months even a week before. I want to believe that it is true!

Oh nice pls how did you check your processing time previously thats showed 19months and now showing 5 months??

Yesterday I heard an immigration advisor talking in a program. And spoke about the new law and the people who applied for refugee after one year arriving to Canada. Their scheduled hearings were cancelled. Now they depend on that law. Can ask PR for H&C or PRA but not asylum. I think that is the difference. Why now the number reduce dramatically. It is my opinion based on what I hear. Maybe im wrong but I wanted to share. Maybe somebody knows more about it.

The issue you mentioned might be related to pending asylum applications, and that requires legislation to be passed. The situation here is related to pending pr applications. So, these are completely unrelated issues. The decrease in numbers can't be related to that. It's either a mistake, or they may have separated principal applicants and dependents numerically.

did your family get PR with you?

I only received mine. I had to send IRCC a document to ammend information contained in the Ecopr because my child’s information was missing and should have been listed as a dependent. My child’s application number G00xxxxx was same as mine but my spouse’s application number was different. Hopefully they work on the corrections quickly.
