2023 PR Applications Timeline (Protected Persons & Refugees)

It looks like this years allocated limit for us was 27,000. Does anybody happen to know how many application approved in 2025 so far ?
The mass approval I mentioned in different topics was something like this.
Can someone explain last year quota for PR for protected person was 18000.how mouch the quota for 2026..onwards...increase or decrease.
If it’s similar to TR to PR in 2021, we need to stay alert to IRCC announcements because this will be temporary, and we might have to apply for it instead of receiving it automatically
I’m march 2024 applicant under DR2 pilot program depends back home. only Eligiblity passed a week ago. That’s all. If there is any news, please keep updated. Thanks
Big update for those who are waiting for PR under the protected persons status:
“Budget 2025 proposes a one-time initiative to recognise eligible Protected Persons in Canada as permanent residents over the next two years. This practical step is a reflection of the fact that the vast majority of these people cannot return to the country of their origin. It will also ensure that those in genuine need of Canada's protection have their permanent status recognized, accelerating their full integration into the Canadian society and their path to citizenship. The fiscal cost of this measure is $120.4 million over four years, starting in 2026-27. This represents the costs for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and the Canada Border Services Agency to process the additional applications, which are partially offset by higher fee revenues.” In simple words, this one-time pathway will prioritizes and accelerates PR applications under the protected persons category as part of the initiative. Hopefully, all pending applications will be granted PR status directly without waiting for the normal processing time or queue. BIG WIN for everyone who are waiting!

Example 1: Person already applied and is stuck in the queue
• IRCC activates this one-time measure.
• IRCC pulls a list of in-Canada protected person PR files that meet some basic conditions. For example:
1. Applicant is in Canada.
2. Protection is still valid and not ceased.
3. No serious criminality or inadmissibility.
4. Application was received on or before a date IRCC will name.
(These are typical filters. I am inferring based on how they filter other backlogs.)
• Your file is in that list. Instead of waiting for the normal queue, IRCC issues the approval and generates ECOPR.
• You get your confirmation and then the PR card follows.

We will be seeing them around again soon, spreading negativity. I sincerely hope the government grants PR status to Protected Persons immediately after their positive IRB decision. Compared to other PR categories, IRCC has treated us far too unfairly, and this delay has caused unnecessary hardship.
Yes i have almost lost my career track a year delayed. But this is good news for
Others since it looks and clearly says ircc that protected person cannot return their home so prioritize PR to become Citizen.
