The Liberals say they will also introduce a one-time measure to expedite the permanent residency status of protected persons — those who have had their asylum claim approved by the Immigration and Refugee Board but are awaiting approval of their residency status. If it’s similar to TR to PR in 2021, we need to stay alert to IRCC announcements because this will be temporary, and we might have to apply for it instead of receiving it automatically
