2023 PR Applications Timeline (Protected Persons & Refugees)

I’ve contacted mp and their office sent me update from ircc because they keep following.

“
Good morning,
As of the update received from IRCC, August 29, 2025, all assessments on your application have been completed, and it is now awaiting a final decision. The file is currently 10 days past the standard timeline, and IRCC has acknowledged the delay. We will be following up again within the next 15 business days.
Thank you for your patience, and we will keep you updated as we hear more. “

It means they literally stopped working on files because of some reason may be political pressure, it’s very difficult but we r next March and I’m sure this year only March or April if lucky enough. Hope something happens soon.

10-day delay is nothing, people are waiting for many months -years.

You can call them, but they are lazy, useless and don’t give the correct answer. Anyway, they will know if the final decision has been made.

I think this is automated reply. I got it every time I have contacted them. They kept sending me this response over and over until I got tired. I think the webform is useless in our case.

I know it’s useless, even they are not even doing anything after contacting mp as well.

Im February 26, 2023. No final decision yet. Some January and February applicants haven’t received decisions yet.
The processing time is 29 months and Im over 30 months already. Its approximate time they took to finalize previous decisions in last 6 months.
Maybe we should add additional 6 months to the processing time. This year they have 100,000 more permanent residencies to give by the end of the year and they already gave almost 300,000 till now. This is the reason the process is slowed down for everyone. Probably we will notice a spike in processing times as well. Im not discouraging anyone but trying to figure out what’s going on. Its unfair they dont go queue wisely. All the applications are all over the place and hard to understand the whole process. I have been reading people getting approved from the same month I applied since last 4 months, But im still at the same spot. I called IRCC and they sent a message to my officer a month ago. And in reply I received that my application is in queue and the officer acknowledged that I am past my processing time. It wasn’t much of a help. We are only 4 months away from next year and there will be new quotas. Good luck.

They are focusing on French and psw PRs for rest of the year quota,

We will get this year but it’s really hard to say for April or may candidates I hopes everyone gets but sad news.
