2022 PR application timeline

I can’t speak for everyone, but honestly, I’m exhausted and frustrated beyond words. It’s been 42 months now since I submitted my PR application back in April 2022, and there’s still no end in sight. My file has been stuck in the comprehensive security screening stage, which from what I’ve seen lately can drag on for 18–24 months or more. Even my open work permit renewal that I submitted in June 2025 hasn’t moved an inch. At this point, it feels like everything is just frozen.

Same here… I submitted a request for my GCMS notes on August 11, and it’s been almost two months with no response yet. The last two times I ordered them, I got them in less than a month, so I have no idea why this one is taking so long. It really feels like everything related to our files is just stuck lately.

Oh god the IRCC has introduced a new processing-time display showing queue details and estimated time left among other things and the goalpost has changed yet again! Cue "I'm tired, boss" meme...

I applied for permanent residence in November 2022 in the province of Quebec. I recently moved to Ontario and updated my address through a webform. My application has been transferred from Quebec to Ontario, and I have received both Eligibility and Pre-arrival.

I want to ask the security process starts only after the info sharing is completed what exactly is the info sharing about?
