@alijpro:

Umm I'm not sure if CIC will do another draw after July to give the spot to some eligible applicant.

People had a whole months to read those documents and then fill out the form or even read the guidelines from previous years. its not a rocket science.

we don't have any problem but it shows the arrogance. CIC outlined the requirements for a reason so just follow the process like everyone else,by not doing so you are actually hurting people who is truly eligible and want to reunite with their families.

Got the email today - not selected. Disappointed but more than that I am just livid at those that don't qualify and yet submitted their interest to sponsor - I hope CIC keeps a database of these morons once they get deemed clearly ineligible and does something about it.

Got rejected as well.

Not unexpected if their fabulous system allows basically anyone with access to internet to fill it out.

Hopefully they'll fix it for next year otherwise if this year there were 95,000 applications next year is going to be on the millions.

I am actually surprised there were only 95,000, maybe the voice didn't got spread enough?

What if so many ineligible people filled the forms that none of the eligible candidates win lottery? No one will be invited to apply? Of course it's not going to work that way. I'm sure they have a way to filter out ineligible applicants and then do a draw between eligible candidates only. If they had to do a draw from everyone who filled the form that could have been done on March 4th. I can write a computer program in 10 minutes that does that. It's taking so long because they are filtering out ineligible forms and all those 10K lottery winners will be able to apply. Even if someone from them later decided not to submit an application they will have a way to pass on the spot to someone else.. like there will be a list B as well... you will see it soon.

If you are working at IT industry, you are basically showing your ignorant.
Based on the collected information, there is NO WAY that IRCC can determine eligibility of the application.

You'd be really stupid if you think someone ineligible filling the form will waste a spot. Of course if s/he is not eligible then s/he will be disqualified and the spot will be given to someone eligible.

and BTW CIC uploaded detailed requirements few days after they made form available. So stop shaming people who filled the forms.

I filled this form twice from my side and from my sibling's side even though I was 99% sure that I won't be eligible... You have a problem?

And even if it does waste a spot... why do I care? .. I am not getting selected anyway so why not take a few more people down with me...

There is a saying in URDU language,... "Hum tou dobay hain sanam tumko bhi lay dobain ge"... Translation: Since I am drowning so I will take you with me.. LOL

You look like out of brain.
Even though you don't feel sorry for your act yet I still pray for your family reunification soon. God bless you!

Really hate to say this kind of stuff, just because you are drowning, you will take others drown with you, please go back to your country, and drown yourself there. This is Canada.

I just quoted a phrase.. and you take your "go back to your country" rant somewhere else. I am not going anywhere. Canada is my country now and I love it here :D

I just pointed out that a SYSTEM is not built on such weak rules that if someone does this or that then system will fail. They must have thought through this and they don't need your expert opinions on how to do the draw. Stop worrying too much about someone taking your spot.

Hope that you will be in exactly same spot when you are able to apply :)

For the fairness. I hope they change the system for next year.

They need to filter out the ineligible and multiple entries.

IMO they should implement POINT System like express entry.

But what do I know? I am just a peon

And please don't act like that you were the only one who knew the faults of this system. Every single person in this forum and many others already knew and pointed out already. The reason that I am criticizing you is not the fact that you knew the faults of the system, but the fact that you knew that you were not qualified for sure, and applied. And of course, not even being sorry for others.

Yeah and your have all the intelligence in the world still you don't know they can simply run a query across the database with the parameters provided in the form to validate who is eligible and who is not.

In the other scenario maybe there is a round 2 of draw for spots that remain empty after round 1?

and What if someone who was eligible and filled the form.. but later decided not to proceed with the application for any reason (like death, change of marital status, losing willingness to sponsor a parent etc)? in that case also spots will be wasted right? what can you do about that?

If you still believe that based on those collected information and simply run query to determine eligibility, I'm speechless, not even worth to continue on this discussion.
It is highly not going to happen that there will be a second draw from the past experiences with IRCC (of course, who knows what IRCC will do).

Don't mix it up the fact, you were telling that you were ineligible and applied for the spot. I don't have any problem with those who are eligible and applied, but later cancel or reject to proceed the application. It's a different case.

I just got an email notification that the application to sponsor my parents hasn't been selected. I will try next year. I am happy for folks who are able to get past the first step towards sponsoring their parents.

I really wish that people who were ineligible and still applied, knowingly or unknowingly, have had some common sense to pre-read qualifying criteria.
Good luck to all!
