I am asking this question on behalf of a friend who got this response from Nova Scotia after sending his financial details after they requested for an update :

Also, I cannot consider your wife’s business account funds because I cannot determine how much would be available for your immigration.



The minimum required funds for Nova Scotia Demand for a family of 3 is $18,260 CDN.



Your bank account balance was 375,483 NGN on 09 OCT 2015, which equals $2,480 CDN.










































































































































I am not satisfied that you meet the minimum funds requirement.


*The person got this yesterday. He now has more than the expected money in his account. Can he still submit the bank statements that contains the full money after this correspondence from the nomination officer?

if the letter did not mention anything about refusal that means he/she still have the chance.
write to the officer every explanation necessary about all the valuable assets he/she has to be able to survive in NS. make sure all assets are in liquid CAD aka cash or equivalent.
house, jewelry, diamonds, etc are not cash, you must ask someone (lawyers, bank, etc) to value those assets as cash value.

This thread is for PNP. So at which stage did you apply? Nomination or post nomination? Post-nomination means you'd have your nomination letter from the province and then you've submitted your actual PR application to the federal.

So which is it?

Should be in contact with ISANS (Immigration Services Association of Nova Scotia). They'll help you with the necessary.

I am also extending this. For accommodation, will you be coming on your own or with a family? How big a family? What's your budget? A note of advice is to inform your current landlord (if you rent) you would like them to be your reference for your future Canadian landlord. If you own a home, you probably get someone from the bank to vouch for you that you consistently paid your mortgage.
