first of all you will not get nomination letter straight, there will be series of emails sent by Immi if your application is complete and you are eligible to be nominated as per NS Immi officer. So if you have +ve feedback from NS immi then you don't need to apply for FSWP.

Incase you don't want to settle in NS, please inform NS immi about it so that they can nominate another person in the list . Also once you get nomination letter you may wait till 6 months to apply to CIC, you may check if FSW opens then apply for it otherwise apply with nomination letter

They will open in May only. As per their website 'Cap year end on April 30, 2014'. FYI..

thats the fSW 2013 program that is ending on 30th april. but there is no official information that they will start FSW 2014 from may. It may start in may 2014 or will never start. It has happened in last 2 years they didnt had FSW in 2011/2012

Check your occpation in workingcanada.gc.ca and click it to see details, it supose to show you if it is regulate

I think, they have enough application to select 150 however after 1st April they might send received applications to the store for next year.

150 is not a big amount if we think about the entire globe from where they are getting applications to consider.

They must increase cap to 1500 at least so that some of us will get selected.

They can not surpass a federal immigration rule, first they should request more applications by next fiscal year

as per my knowledge , they are just experimenting this program to see the response from the outside.

As per the CIC news they are going to accept 45000 application this year. SSNP had cap of 200 , NS has 150 and now Ontario started with cap of 2500. So dont worry they are going to open provincial one by one..

Does anyone have any information how much time does NS takes to give nominations for other streams. In the guide they say 1 month or more depending on applications recieved. In the FAQ they say 3 month or more ?? This is so confusing :-(

In the FAQ they 3 or more months, because they notice evaluating so many applications takes time, this stream is not as normal process as the others.

Applying with province nomination will ensure more chances for visa than direct FSW? I think with nomination more chances for visa. Pls give ur insight.

One doubt, please let me know 150 application is the number of application for a particular category or taking as a whole.

It sounds to me that applicants here do not really want to move to NS, just want to go to Canada, using NS as a stepping stone ... ?! If don't really want to move to NS, why waste the quota for those who really really wants to stay in NS permantely??

Why NS starts this program? Coz local skill labours move to other provinces for higher pay... this is why they need more skill labours

Are you sure we have to wait 6 months once we get nominated ? or do you mean we have a maximum of 6 months to apply to CIC from the day we get our nomination ? I think your nomination expires after 6 months so you have to apply to CIC within 6 months of nomination
