Nova Scotia's provincial government announced yesterday that the federal government has increased the province's immigrant nominee cap by 200, to 700 nominations in 2012. (source cicsnews.com)

Hope they will do same for this year.

Just try to press for understanding of facts here. The increase was year-on-year (wasn't in) ? It was not an increase in the middle of the immigration year. For example, this year NSOI has 700 or so skilled nominations to hand out, next year, starting Jan 2015, the federal Govt may increase the allocation to 1000. The increase will then be effective 1st qtr of 2015 when the new program takes off NOT an increase to this year's allotment. NSOI CANNOT increase its cap by itself. IT has to come from the feds.

Thank's for your answer.

In the link you see the title "Federal Gov of Canada Increases Nova Scotia's Immigration Nominee Quota".
Posted on November 15, 2012.
Period for increasing was "in 2012" (Nova Scotia's provincial government announced yesterday that the federal government has increased the province's immigrant nominee cap by 200, to 700 nominations in 2012.)
This means that Gov increased cap during the year. Am I right?

May be someone can help to find more information about that increasing?

Whether any where it has been mentioned as 700 nomination is only for RLMD. hope it is for overall cap which includes all nomination program.

This program was truly stupid ...
They received 3000 applications until 28/4.
They should have closed the program in march and not cause 3000 people huge frustration and disappointing !

I *censored word*en hold a Canadian pharmacist license. Put so much effort on the exams but I cannot work in Canada !
This is *censored word*ty situation

I fear that the same thing is going to happen again in 2015 when/if they re-open the applications. This time you gonna have 10,000 people sending applications on Jan.01, 2015 or any given day, if they don't re-think the way and method by which they choose.

The criteria cannot only be on a first come first served basis. There have to be other selection factors, otherwise they will miss out on the best suited and qualified nominees for province. (OR maybe remove the "first come, first serve basis---this is the problem, in my humble opinion) 8) ::)

This will reduce the numbers to reasonable best suited applicants to be selected within reasonable timelines.
I think otherwise you will continue to have disappointment and sheer frustration.

I would love to know what others think. :D ;D

I think NSOI already understood it.
Next time selection factors will be more strict than were at the first implementation of RLMD.

I also believe that NSOI must not accept applications after appropriate level is reached.
For instance, if they have cap for 150, they should stop accepting apps after 750 received.
Because people are spending money, waste their energy and time, and what they received?

Only FRUSTRATION!

Just imagine: if they received 5000 apps, and considered only 750, then what about other 4250 people???

So , I can say that the RLMD program was organized not correctly.
Or we can assume that NSOI had another goals too, for instance, increasing the cap next year based on the apps number received.

Anyway, human rights should be protected, and it does not matter from which countries the applicants are!
We are also humans!

I think all the people who were left behind, are agree with me.

100% agreed. Keep hope alive.

Guys - I received request for documents today from NSOI. I'll send additional details once I'm off work in case anyone has questions - THis includes detailed settlement plan, paystub, correction on form (visa office - put Nova Scotia which was wrong), employment history letter.

I thought my initial settlement plan was clear and my intentions detailed. No problem, will get to work on it

All immigration program are first come first server basis and cap limit should be there. Frustration doesn't make sense here.

if you want to come Canada then apply under diff category such as study permit, entrepreneur or any other skills that is really needed in provinces etc.

Country never miss best/suitable/appropriate candidate. If you think that you are suitable for that program then apply on early basis.

No, due to my age, I need to score almost the highest score in IELTS according to CLB level.

In other words I need to score 23 points for Language.
And currently I passed IELTS 5 times in a one year period(highest score for Language is 21), and each time there is something less than needed in different sections of the exam:

So, it is something indefinite...

Question Seniors - Is it true that US based applicants are to use Ottawa office ? or is New York / LA ? I'm seeing on other forums that US applicants are routed to Ottawa. True or False ?

See you got an opportunity to apply under FSW. so we can't say anything to immigration system.

Nova scotia has provided good opportunity who got low scores in IELTS but people took longer time to submit application.

We can't blame any immigration system.
