Hi Hellen,

I just want to mention that the obtaining a Nomination letter is just the first step.
You then should apply with it to CIC for PR. So it is not apparent that you can get PR faster with Nomination letter.
AGREED!!!!!

Dear friends ,

I am lab technologist with 10 years of experience. My application received on 24 of April by Nova Scotia .

Also my wife lab technician. We are family with 3 kids.

My IELTS is 5.5.

Old application before some years . I told them about it by date and documents.

I hope I will be nominated this time.

Till now I didn't receive any thing from N.S.

I hope good luck for all of you.

Dears,

Is there someone who received a pre-screening email from NSOI (who's application was received starting from 12.03.2014)?
Please update the information on the spreadsheet.

but how will NS know you have applied FSW and your destination is NS or not NS?
moreover, maybe the applicant already gets the nomination letter even before receive PER from FSW

The way it works, NS will not know you have applied to FSW and neither will they know your destination. The two bodies (CIC and Province) are independent of each other, although the work integrally.

Assuming you have your nomination letter as you said today and it is to expire in 6 months and you have PR from FSW tomorrow you have two choices.

- To decline processing the Nomination letter and move with the PR.

- To write CIC to withdraw/transfer your PR to reflect the nominated province (Clumsy). Not necessary because FSW allows you to land anywhere and i stand to be corrected.

In reality, if your application for FSW with CIC has reached your local visa office or medical request, it is needled applying for Province again because the FSW gives you right of landing anywhere.

My thoughts of an increase to the current 150 Cap -

I think this still has less than a 50% chance of happening at least this year. I do think NSOI are indeed thinking and planning basis for requesting an increase in the cap. I reckon they continued to accept applications up until the 28th of April to back the request for an increase with facts -
3000 plus people a keen to come to NS (the number of applications received is one metric that will be touted to CIC while making an argument). I also think ALL the applications will go through initial review (they'll almost certainly be opened). Another fact NSOI will push to establish is the number of complete and eligible applicants from the pool of 3000 they received.

I envision an argument based on the need for immigrants (this is already public knowledge) coupled with data to back the fact that qualified immigrants are indeed keen to come to NS. The Canadian immigration politics is normally backed with metrics and factual data. In all I do not think the target for an increased cap is a likely argument for 2014 but instead a push for 2015. The reason I judge it to be unlikely is the fact that refused applications are being returned and not kept. This includes applications refused on the argument that the applicant has applied to another province (one I judge to be weak but understandable when you have a large pool to choose from)

Any update from the NS office?

I think anyone from 12 th march should have received prescreening today.
