Thanks Kona and Winnie,

Did you guys not get upfront medical exam email ?
Is your ecase being updated ?

Generally, once you are approved, it will take a week or 2 for you receive Med request.

Wow Winnie. We have almost exactly the same timeline with dates! I got my AOR Dec 17 as well. My parents are from HongKong and I am surprised that they were transferred to Ottawa!

Hi,

I received an email today saying my sponsor is approved.

Can someone give me some ideas what I should do next? Here is my timeline.

Applied: Nov 1, 2010
Doc Req: July 31, 2014
AOR: Dec 17, 2014
Sponsor Approval: Sept 28, 2015
Visa Office: Hong Kong (Anyone has experience for how long Hong Kong will take for the next email/step/request?)

I am wondering if I should ask my parents to do medical exam now, or I should wait until the visa office asks? How about the Right of Permanent Residence Fee, should I pay it now or wait till they request?

Thank you!

So in the letter, it said upfront medical was not received and said this was noted as deficiency. I am just not sure if another email will come with medical request or is this medical request saying we should do upfront? I am confused.

Ecas only changed that it added my mom as dependent. Everything is the same.

Thank you Kona for reply. Yes it is upfront medicals. If I were you, I wouldn`t wait but just for medicals. They are valid for 1 year anyways.

Upfront Medical

I received my sponsor approval today via email. This is my timeline

Applied - Jan 31, 2011
Doc Req - Aug 2014
Doc Sent - Oct 2014
AOR - Dec 2014
Approval - Sep 28, 2015

My case took a little longer because I gave birth to two kids during last two years.

Anyways, I received the letter today stating that they didn't receive Upfront Medical. My questions is: will I receive another email from Ottawa for medical? What's the benefit of doing upfront? I just don't know if I want to tell my parents to do medical now and the case gets delayed again then they have to redo medical again.

Thanks for your advice.

Did they ask you to submit additional documents before they approved? How do you know it was delayed due to family size increase?

We sent our additional documents on 20th Aug and its been more than a month but still no passport request. Hoping tobhear good news soon

Yeah but I am scared it will be delayed again so before they land they have to do another medical exam which is annoying.

No they didn't. I provided all my status changes with additional info. I am just guessing the delay is due to increase in family size.
But I did send a couple emails to CPC-M for status update. They just assured me everything was there and they will eventually get there

I believe I got the same letter as Kona. It tells you that you can do an upfront medical exam, and I am not sure if I should do the upfront medical exam or I should wait till they ask.

Ecas no change yet, just added a line of dependants but this was added two weeks ago, not after I got approval.

Hi Kona,

Are you parents living in HongKong now or they are in Canada? I think that if my parents are currently in Canada, my case might be transferred to Ottawa instead of HK. I believe the process of next step will be faster in Ottawa than in HK.

I am still not sure what's gonna happen next and how long it will possibly take for my parents to actually land. Anyone has any ideas or experiences? Please share.

Thank you.

My friend's sponsor file transferred to Ottawa too, and she got emails very quick after the sponsor approval requesting to submit medical and a criminal record document.

My Parents live in HK now but my mom comes here once a while. I think i might wait a little to do the medical. I hope to get the request for medical soon.

Have your ecas been updated yet with decision made?

Thanks.
