If you have RRSP and TFSA, you shall notify bank as well since RRSP and TFSA are tied with your SIN.

In my case, the field of "Original entry" is blank...I asked the CBSA officer and she told me it is not a big deal. I doesn't affect anything. My speculation is it is not a big deal. With the new Citizenship Act, there will be no credit given to those who live in Canada prior to status change...

I got my new SIN at the same day of the landing, with passport stamped and COPR. If you are living in a big city where there are multiple Service Canada, try different ones.

There is no SIN "CARD" anymore. On March 31, 2014, Service Canada began issuing SINs in a paper format (confirmation of SIN letter). Production of the plastic SIN cards has stopped. http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/sc/sin/

there are cases that PNP applicants got their PR visa revoked by CBSA because CBSA officer did not see the intention to reside at the Province that nominate the applicant. http://www.cic.gc.ca/ENGLISH/RESOURCES/manuals/bulletins/2010/ob251.asp
