Of course you can. Standard application means that your passport will be ready in 20 days (normal processing time) and urgent application means that you want your passport ASAP. You can have it the same day if you wanted. In this case they might request a proof of emergency. Regards

@softwaretesting if you want my advice, Don't go to Service Canada. Go to a Passport Office instead for a faster processing. I applied at Passport Office last week(Tuesday) and got my passport Monday. That's 4 business days in total. My application was a standard application.

@softwaretesting, yes, your spouse can submit your application and the kids application as well. Just make sure that the address on her driver's license is the same as yours. My wife applied for myself and my daughter last week and that was the main thing they checked. Regards

@americanidiot in my case it did help because I received the interview invitation after contacting my MP. The MP gave me the interview date even before I received they email from IRCC. My opinion is that contacting your MP might work for you. Regards
