    PR Visa stamping delay

Good point. If you can confirm that IRCC is actually waiting for payment - pay it. They are usually good about returning overpaid amojnts later (no guarantee of course).

PR Residency Obligation Shortfall After US University – Returning Permanently to Canada in 2030 (s.44 / H&C)

FIrst, the math. You MUST track your time outside Canada, and all entries and exits, carefully. Get thee to a spreadsheet and enter all entries and exits. A part day in Canada counts as a day in Canada. You only need 730 days total before Aug 2030. Hint: on most spreadsheets, if dates are...

Proof you will live in Canada with your spouse

While I think it's important to show your /intent/ to move to Canada, it's frankly ridiculous to imply that people should give notice to their job in circumstances where they do not know how long the sponsorship process might take. Yes - it can be one component in some circumstances...

Citizenship application and US travel history.

You are responsible for providing the correct dates of your travel and entries/exits. If you don't have that information, you do what you need to in order to get it - like ordering Canadian or US entry/exit records. As for ticking that box: IRCC uses it to check. They're telling you there that...

Minor spelling discrepancy in my Canadian mother’s birth certificate – Proof of Citizenship

I doubt this will be an issue, they're even common in some places from hand-written records. Personally I'd guess doesn't even require a letter of explanation - but can't hurt. I'd go with whichever version is more common in her docs, and an explanation that the hand-written original drops the...

Citizenship: COPR and PR CArd has no middle name. Foreign Passport and Sons Birth Certificate(parents name)has middle name.

Shoudl be no need, this is pretty common - especially from countries that have certain types of middle names - eg I have family members with patronymics (signifying son/daughter of) in foreign passports, IRCC dropped/stripped those from all correspondence early on, incl COPR/PR etc. No issue...

Citizenship Photo for Minor Outside Canada

Of course it can be done from outside Canada. Just get the specifications right. My suggestion would be to print out the specifications for a physical photo, have them do the physical ones (they'll measure and cut to size), and also get scanned copies of that final. I'm pretty sure the...

Beating the 5-Year Window: US Land Border Entry with COPR & Lost PR Card

I know extremely little about the USA and what they do (apart from, you know, the headlines) - but not that I'm aware of. That said, I'd personally not get into phrasing like 'on way to fulfill PR residency obligations' - just say you're a Canadian PR and on your way there (via whatever...

Beating the 5-Year Window: US Land Border Entry with COPR & Lost PR Card

    1. CBSA should have a record of departure, airport information sharing (both with USA and flight manifests to Canadian government) generally are pretty accurate (at least from reports here, more accurate typically than land exits). That said, occasionally some exits are missing (for example, my...

Express Entry Applicant – Police Certificate for Citizenship?

If you followed the instructions properly (I think the application has you indicate that your 183+ days was before you became a PR), shouldn't be an issue. While they do sometimes ask for police certificates for those that don't (by following those instructions) technically need to, it's not...

A Technical Solution is Required to Add Dependents to a Returned PR Application under Family (Outland Spouse) Class

This is not a particularly technical response - but it should work: download the PDF form version of IMM0008; fill it out using adobe acrobat (free version is fine) on your computer; if you need to sign it, print, sign, scan to PDF (if you don't need to sign, skip to next step); upload final PDF...

    March 2025 - Citizenship Applications

Or this is like "anti-tiger spray" sold in Canada - I mean, it obviously works, no wild tigers here; even if some skeptics and wags claim it's unnecessary. Either way, glad to hear that you have some movement.

PR Renewal after entering Canada with multiple entry PRTD granted under H&C grounds (RC-1 code)

The best development out of this is that you are getting your PR card in a timely manner. Agree it needs to be addressed. As stated before, though, most seem to eventually get it, even without waiting for PR card to come through.

Entering Canada by Land from the U.S. Without PR Card – First PR Card Not Received

You either missed the point or misunderstood. The passport is a travel document. The eCOPR plus passport (or indeed other ID) is not sufficient to board a plane to Canada, but at the land border, will be accepted as evidence the bearer is a PR and must be admitted.
