    You need to apply to restore status or your spouse will only qualify for an SOWP after AIP. Also in general a good idea to try to remain in Canada legally.

    Realistically even if denied and loses PR the spouse will just sponsor him. What should come to an end is the ability to park your family in Canada while the PA who qualifies for PR lives and works abroad. Vancouver is a prime example of why this shouldn’t be allowed.

    As I mentioned before if your CSS has been in processing for 2 years I would file for mandamus. The courts are extremely backlogged and tough to say what processing time may be so far in the future.
