    They're not processing them sequentially; they're doing whatever they want. Currently, the total number of pending applications appears to be around 98k. Given that the one-off initiative covered 115k, we can probably conclude that they've finalized around 16-17k PRs in a mixed manner.

    I think, like in my previous application, those that are approved within 3-4 weeks are approved by AI. The others go through manual review.

    One is the date you submitted your application, and the other is the date they started processing it and sent you your application number. But you have a significant difference between the two dates for your case.

    My one friend applied in june and got their work permit 6 months later. I've heard of a few people like that. This is totaly unfair.

    The work permit extension application shouldn't take this long. It's not such a complicated process. My first two work permits were approved within 3-4 weeks. I did 3rd application in this july.

    Keeping an application waiting for six years and considering that normal is ridiculous. If they have a reason to reject it, they can reject it. Besides, in protected person-based PR applications, there aren't many options for rejection.

    What I said was misunderstood. I think Bill C-12 is a flawed law and doesn't align with my worldview. The one-year limit also doesn't fit my worldview. But I only meant that if the law has passed and is to be applied, there shouldn't be a distinction between referred and unreferred...

    Regardless of whether it was referred to the IRB or not, everyone who applied after June 3rd 2025 should receive an ineligibility letter. Anything less would be unfair.

    I think it refers where the application needs to be submitted after June 3, 2025. So, we need to pay attention to two dates: one is June 24, 2020, and the other is June 3, 2025.

    I disagree. The one-year time limit is set from the date of initial entry, and if they haven't made any changes to the draft, those who entered to Canada the first time before June 24, 2020, should not be affected.
