    Canada ignored the issue for a long time. There is now a lot of push from citizens to reduce volume of temporary residents and people without status. We are already seeing changes that will make it harder to remain without status like not being able to get a driver’s license in some provinces.

    Yes you can sponsor again after 3 years but expect additional scrutiny given your 1st marriage will raise concerns of potential immigration fraud. I would suggest spending significant time in person together before and during sponsorship.
