    Parents & Grandparents Program(PGP) 2025 - Invitation Timeline

PGP is a long process (1-3 years). It is clear that most have not received AOR so be patient. Even if processing takes a long time you were extremely lucky to get selected.

Inland vs Outland (OHIP and Travel)

That is not AIP. That is AOR or sponsor eligibility approval.

Commute between oath and getting Canadian Passport

The intent to remain is not a lifelong commitment to Canada. Also appears as though he is primarily paying US taxes so not the huge benefit you are suggesting.

    APPEALS

Also could have been pure coincidence. You were in a queue for processing. An MP has minimal impact on applications that have not exceeded somewhat normal processing.

Inland vs Outland (OHIP and Travel)

As soon as you get sponsor approval you should qualify based on new rules. “are applying for permanent residence in Canada and: have submitted an application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and IRCC has confirmed they have reviewed the application and that you meet the...

    H&C question

H&C is no longer a good option for 99% of cases because processing times are literally decades and there is a good chance there are going to have to be some significant reforms to the program. OP should be more concerned about how their friend’s spouse is going to remain in Canada since the VR...

Application and invitation withdrawn by OINP!

Would add that you may want to approach the media about this. I normally don’t support people publicizing their immigration cases in order to put pressure on the minister to approve their case but given our healthcare crisis and the fact you’re currently working as an MD in Ontario it may be...

    PR card

Unsure what processing time will be it seems to be quite variable. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/permanent-residents/travel-document/apply.html Have you gone through the steps in the website I attached earlier? Booking and an airline ticket are the same thing.

    Parents & Grandparents Program(PGP) 2024

If your parents visit Canada you should inform IRCC and they would qualify for eCOPR.

Commute between oath and getting Canadian Passport

Intent to remain made people stay past when they applied for citizenship. That meant one extra year for most. Don’t think that becomes make or break especially given what is going on with US immigration. Unless you are contributing millions the liability for 3 years in Canada does not make sense.

Application and invitation withdrawn by OINP!

Hopefully IRCC will create a high skilled pathway to capture cases exactly like yours. We need more MDs but there is no pathway to PR for most MDs these days. As others have suggested there is a good chance this was an error so would work with a lawyer and ask for reconsideration while...
