My wife and myself are PR in Canada. However, our child was born in the USA and we later returned to Canada by the end of June, 2025. He is a USA citizen and can stay for 6 months here. We have applied to sponsor him as PR and the application is in progress. We are planning to visit our home country in November for 2 weeks and hence, all of us will travel outside of Canada. When we return back to Canada, will our child (2 years old) be issued another 6 months of stay in Canada ? Or, should we apply for a visitor record/visit visa extension? If yes, should we apply for it before our departure and if yes, what is the processing time, because our flight tickets are for Nov 14th.

Thanks in advance.

Every new entry is considered for an up to 6 month visit. I would mention and have proof on your phone that you already applied for sponsorship.
