Question for you experienced folks: How does the process of receiving PRC card look like and how long does it take?
Does the process start when you enter the country for the first time after receiving COPR? Or is that possible to start the PR card process from your home country?
Thanks

As far as I know it takes 2 months after you provided your Canadian address to IRCC. If you have declared a Canadian address prior to landing, then it's 2 months after you landed.

You can only start the process after you either landed in Canada, or you've provided a Canadian address to IRCC whichever is later.

You cannot start the process from your home country because IRCC needs a Canadian address, and needs to be sure you're in the country first, because the PR cards are delivered to your Canadian address. I think the PR cards are only being distributed this way.

two months after landing that sounds extreme. Can you work in the meantime?

Yes, you need PR card only to return back to Canada if you leave otherwise you need to apply for PRTD from your home country which is a single entry visa that has a paper-based application and processing time of 8+ months.

If you check FB groups, people have not received PR cards for 6+ months, there is a giant backlog for PR cards also.

Thanks for clarifying! It means then that you can leave Canada without receiving the PR card yet, you just need to apply PRTD. Can PRTD request be rejected?

Folks, Is it possible for Canada to meet its immigration targets for 2022 and 2023 without inviting more FSW-outland applicants?

Correct. I think PRTD will be rejected only if you let your PR status expire which means you have not lived in Canada for 2 years in the last 5 years.

Yes very much. ICT WP holders, temporary workers, refugees and international students currently living there= 5 years worth quota
IRCC and Canadian federal government already proved it, the year 2021
bro you ok?

Hi All, am in a dilemma. My son, who is 6, had his remeds done with myself as the main applicant and him & my spouse as the dependents. Now the issue is, the Canadians are asking why isn’t my son covid vaccinated. I’m based in a European country where kids his age aren’t eligible to receive vaccinations. The doctor who carried out the medical exam told me that he received a “reason for not being vaccinated” form from IRCC which mentions only two reasons “ 1. Parents do not want child to be vaccinated”
“2. Parents dont want to vaccinate child for religious reasons. ”
In a nutshell, none of the two aforementioned reasons are valid in our case. We can’t vaccinate our child simply because vaccines for under 12 yr olds isn’t available in our country.
how to tackle this @legalfalcon
Any suggestions would be much appreciated as we’re at the fag end of our application…
